this year we had a small party at my parents' house (sans parents) with a few of our good friends. i really didn't pay much attention to the game at all, or the commercials even! i made a white bean chili with chicken, potato wedges, brownies, and a digiorno pizza. our friends brought homemade strawberry lemonade (YUM), cupcakes, kettle corn, chips, dips, bread, and artichoke dip (i had way too much of that!). needless to say, we had plenty of food.

at one point us girls played clue. it was pretty fun -- it had been years since i played!

here are some pictures from the festivities (we, of course, are sporting our bear jerseys):

food makes me sleepy...

nine months!

wow! caleb is 3/4ths of a year old!! unbelievable! one of his favorite things to do lately is pull himself up, mostly on people's legs, but most anything will do. he's sleeping in his crib at nights, but hasn't been feeling well lately, so sleep at night is not the greatest. both mommy and baby have been a little sick this past week -- not fun!

here are his stats from his doctor visit today:
weight: 20 pounds
length: 28.5 inches

and of course, here are his pictures! he's becoming less and less cooperative during our little photo shoots!

mama's first knitting project -- finished!!

for my first stab at knitting, i made a beanie-type hat for caleb. i had A LOT of help from my friend wendy (who is the one who taught me how to knit). she's a great teacher. well, i finished the hat this morning! here is my little cutie wearing it! doesn't he look absolutely precious?? :)

hopefully many more projects to come!!!

eight months!

WOW! caleb is already eight months! where has the time gone? here are his monthly pictures. stats to come next month, after his nine month doctor appointment. he is a big boy though! he's growing very nicely.

welcome 2010!

we are all looking forward to the year 2010 in our house (caleb is, but he doesn't know it)! many new adventures are coming our way, which we will be happily blogging about when they happen. :) we praise God for a wonderful 2009, the year in which we were blessed with our sweet caleb.
